As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, homeowners are now eligible for a 30% tax credit up to $1,500 dollars if they purchase a qualifying entry door

How do I get the tax credit?
  • Purchase and install a qualified MasterGrain product from 1/1/2009 to 12/31/2010. See MasterGrains ’ Qualified Product Listing. The individual units or the certified assembies must have a U-factor and a Solar Heat Gain Coefficient of 0.30 or lower as tested at an independent laboratory and certified and labelled by the manufacturer.
  • Save the sales receipt (showing the individual price of each qualifying product), the NFRC performance label that is attached to the door and print the Manufacturer Certification Statement .
  • Claim the tax credit when you file your 2009 or 2010 taxes as directed by the IRS.

The Details
  • MasterGrain sells individual certified door components, which are assembled by others. Check with your supplier to ensure they have the proper certification and the door system is eligible prior to purchasing.
  • The tax credit is for the product only and does not cover installation costs.
  • The maximum credit is $1,500 combined for tax years 2009 and 2010 and includes other eligible products.
